UHMWPE sheets provides superior resistance to corrosion from chemicals and abrasive environments like sand and slurries when compared to other thermoplastics. It also offers exceptional impact resistance, even at cryogenic temperatures and is superior to stainless steel.
Important characteristics of UHMWPE sheets include low moisture absorption, good electrical and thermal insulation, FDA acceptance for natural (virgin) grades, self-lubrication and chemical inertness (except in some acids).

UHMWPE sheets has outstanding abrasion resistance, non sticking, excellent mechanical properties and superior impact strength, even at temperatures below -200°C. These excellent properties means UHMWPE sheets is used for food and beverage machinery, bulk material handling, chemical and mining processing equipment and much more. UHMWPE sheets can be machined into vitually anything from gears, bearings to large sprockets. This PE1000 grade plastic can even outperform steel in sliding applications because of its low coefficient of friction.

Application

In machined and fabricated part form, its uses include applications in material handling, agricultural, power transmission and food processing machines as well as in medical devices, shipping and recreational equipment. Some important uses are as wear strips, chain guides, chute and hopper linings, bushings and truck bed liners.
